Volunteer
THERE IS A DISTINCTION BETWEEN HOMELESS & HOPELESS.
All of us at Dalton Greater Works are passionate about serving our community and helping others and we are always looking to grow our team of volunteers: many hands make light work! We are happy to accept volunteers of all kinds; whether you can come once a week, once a month or once a year – we need you! What does it mean to volunteer?
“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”- John Bunyan
We have many ministries operating: our food pantry, our kitchen (meals), our clothing ministry and others. Sometimes we get groups of one-time volunteers coming to lend a hand (groups of volunteers usually need to be scheduled to maximize the effort). We have dedicated weekly and daily volunteers to attend to the needs of the Dalton greater community; however, we are in need of more like-minded people. Have you been struggling to find a place to give back? Have you felt called to help those in need but didn’t know how? Come to Dalton Greater Works and ask, we have ample opportunity to put you to work and you’ll be glad you did! Or you can fill out our form below to express your interest.
We often need assistance “behind the scenes” outside of our operating hours to process donations to the ministry and for special events like our holiday toy drive or our back-to-school bash. Please call in to Dalton Greater Works or fill out the form below to ask someone how you can help.
ATTENTION Current and future volunteers:
We would like to thank all of our volunteers for their willingness to serve in this ministry! Without your help the folks we serve would not be able to be taken care of. But as we have grown it has become necessary to address what is appropriate dress to represent our Lord and Savior. We recognize the divergence in views on style and fashion and we respect the judgment of our volunteers. Please understand who we represent in Jesus' name.
Please wear clothing that you are comfortable in and won't mind getting dirty. We ask you to please refrain from revealing or tight clothing. Modesty and appropriateness are key. As a volunteer you are a role model for our guest and clients.
Appropriate clothing can be:
